All Piano Player Tech tuning appointments are performed by Christian Collins, our certified piano technician. Based in East Point, Christian serves all of metro Atlanta and North Georgia — every tuning, voicing, and pitch raise, from the city to the mountains.

He works with all types of pianos — studio uprights, baby grands, concert grands, and the acoustic side of player pianos. Whether your piano hasn't been touched in a decade or gets played every day, Christian brings the same methodical approach to getting it back in tune.

Bulk scheduling for institutions is coordinated directly with Christian to work around your calendar. All visits include an honest assessment of the piano's overall condition at no extra charge.

Piano Tuning Questions

How often should a piano be tuned?

Twice a year is the standard for most home pianos — once in the fall when heat comes on, once in the spring when humidity shifts. Pianos in churches, schools, and performance venues typically benefit from every 3–4 months. If your piano hasn't been tuned in several years, it may need additional work before a standard tuning can hold.

What's included in the $175 tuning?

A complete tuning to A440 concert pitch. The visit typically takes 60–90 minutes depending on the piano's condition.

What is voicing and do I need it?

Voicing adjusts the tone quality of individual notes by modifying the density of the hammer felts. If your piano sounds too bright and harsh, or dull and muted, voicing can bring it back into balance. It's separate from tuning — a piano can be perfectly in tune and still benefit from voicing. Christian will let you know at the tuning visit whether voicing would help your instrument.

How does the bulk rate work?

The $125 per piano rate applies when you schedule 4 or more. They don't all have to be tuned in a single day — we can spread visits across your schedule while keeping the bulk rate. Just let us know how many pianos you have when you reach out.

Do you tune player pianos?

Yes. The acoustic side of a player piano is tuned the same way as any other piano. If you also need player system repair — pneumatics, bellows, or roll mechanism — that's handled separately by our player piano technician. We can coordinate both in a single trip. Do you come to us or do we bring the piano?

We come to you. All tuning is done in-home or on-site throughout metro Atlanta and North Georgia. There's no need to move your piano.
